Flights of Fantasy
Dear Moshe

We all weep to see you cry dear,
As silence grips the synagogue,
A quiet evening of fear,
As they all gather for prayer.

Your parents’ now together stand,
With the Lord at the Hekhal,
With tears rolling down their eyes,
They no longer will hear your cries.

We ask the terrorist – just why
Kill innocent people and die?
No religion tells you to kill,
So why just go against His will?

Dear Moshe, when you go back home
Your parents will not be there.
But years later when you become,
Tall, slim and very handsome.

Pray do visit us, we’ll be glad,
To have you with us for a stay,
And forgetting these events so sad
We’ll greet you with a Namste.

Your Nanny too needs an award,
For rescuing you from the terrorist.
But to her the greatest reward
Was, to save you from the blitz.

We salute our Police and Commandos,
For their great acts of bravery.
And though some die unsung heroes
We pray for them and their families.
