Non- Violence:
Its root is ahimsa, non harming
Non interference, refusal,
And at any cost, enabling,
Transforming, empowering and
Affirming a common Humanity.

Today:
We exchange places and see through
Another’s eye and wear his hoes.
We cross barriers and sit with them,
We talk and discuss and welcome them,
We allow them to walk in our shoes,
Then when they leave with a handshake,
The friendship returns as Terrorist.

We then review, observe and plan,
And open doors for discussion,
Our bhakti to God is kindness,
And sharing with others on the earth,
And probably love those who hate,
And dare us smile when others frown.

We still cannot abolish-
Corruption and pollution,
Terrorist attacks and violence,
Hatred greed and injustice,
The dream of abolishing war
Then still remains a distant dream.
                                     
Yet we all leaven the world
With love, peace and joy of living.
And ask our kids to do as well.
